History of the Hamlen Farm

In 1816, our ancestor John Hamlin purchased this piece of Hunterdon County from Charles Carter and his wife. Somewhere along the line the family got lazy and lost the dot above the 'i' turning Hamlin to Hamlen. In 1987, John Hamlen (5th generation) and his sons David & Timothy (6th generation) began planting Douglas Fir Christmas trees. The first tree was cut and sold in the winter of 1997. The Family has lovingly planted, pruned and cared for each and every tree. We proudly serve the Warren County community with the family tradition of cutting down their own Christmas trees.
